Our Mission

"The purpose of the College Democrats shall be to promote, both on campus and off, the Democratic Party of the United States of America, its ideals, and its philosophies. Moreover, the College Democrats shall encourage all University students to support the Democratic candidates and elected officials at the Federal, State, and Local level."

Our Executive Board

Baybars Charkas (He/Him/His)
Third-Year student majoring in Political Science and French

President
Serves as the chief executive officer of the PSU College Democrats and is responsible for the actions of the organization.  Serves as a liaison to other democratic organizations in the community and sits on the Centre Country Democratic Committee Executive Board. Also responsible for running the weekly meetings.

Bianca Walder (She/Her/Hers)
Fourth-Year student majoring in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Management & Political Science

Executive Vice President
Serves as President if the President is unable to perform their duties.  Responsible for all external matters relating to the College Democrats.  Also responsible for a major programming event in the Spring each year, in addition to collecting and tracking club dues and working with the fundraising chair.

Administrative Vice President
Serves as the President if the President and the Executive Vice President are unable to do their duties.  Responsible for all internal matters relating to the College Democrats in addition to planning the yearly Washington D.C. trip.

Fourth-Year student majoring in Mechanical Engineering

Treasurer
Responsible for keeping track of all College Democrats accounts and expenditures.  The treasurer oversees all budgets, collects and tracks club dues, and manages the College Democrats merchandise.

Sydney Robinson (She/Her/Hers)
Fourth-Year student majoring in Global and International Studies​

Secretary
Responsible for maintaining all agendas, minutes, and motions for all College Democrats meetings. Also responsible for sharing meeting notifications via ListServ and tracking member attendance.

Julie Colarusso (She/Her/Hers)
Fourth-Year student majoring in Anthropological Sciences

Our Chief of Staff
The liaison between the steering committees and the Executive Board. Will assist the Board with various tasks and is responsible for organizing leadership bonding events.

Responsible for the organization of all fundraising events not related to THON.

Outreach Chair

Responsible for member recruitment, the promotion of club activities, and serving as a liaison between the College Democrats and other organizations on campus.

Responsible for all THON and other charitable activities, as well as serving as the College Democrats' Primary THON Chair

Wellness Chair

Responsible for making sure that all members of the College Democrats feel safe and comfortable in the organization's environment. ​Also responsible for being able to share knowledge on wellness/health services and resources on campus.

Responsible for planning a variety of social events throughout the year that work to help make members feel safe and included.  Also responsible for keeping high club morale.

Responsible for using resources from club alumni, previous employers of club members, and other networks related to the club to assist club members in finding jobs and internships.
